Gecko App Releases

The goal of this release is to have an app with the main spa control feature along with the water monitoring features available to download privately from the app store.

The below is officially released.

Spa Control

• Ability to set the spa temperature (see current temp, + and -)
• Ability to control pumps (on/off, 1 speed 2 speed)
• Ability to control blower and waterfall (on/off)
• Ability to control lights (on/off)

Convenience

• Ability to see the connectivity status (top right cloud)
• Automatic sync with the timezone associated with the spa (DST not supported yet)
• Ability to support multiple phones to monitor and control the spa at the same time

Energy

• Ability to see the current watercare presets (sync with keypad)
• Ability to change the watercare presets
• Make watercare more user-friendly by changing ‘watercare’ names for Economy and filtration presets

Water Sanitation 

• Ability to see the overall water health status: (blue, orange, red wave)
• Ability to intuitively understand the status of pH and Sanitation (ORP): Water Status Indicators
• Implement a Dosing Recommendation Engine
• Ability to add chemical products with a crowdsourced chemical scanning functionnality
• Ability to work with chlorine, bromine, salt and Frog@ease
• Ability to scan LaMotte test strips for full water characterisation
• Ability to intuitively select the test strip color in case the photo scanner doesn’t work
• Ability to enter manually the water characterization results to support any water report (strips, liquid, stores…)
• Ability to see the complete water monitoring and characterization report
• Ability to see historical charts for ORP, pH and temperature
• Ability to notify the user of pending action based on water monitoring

Foundation

• Ensure user privacy compliance
• Ensure a user can set-up Gecko waterlab properly (Set-up flow)
• Ensure the user is aware the app is freemium (remote control is free, software plus-value is premium)
• Ability for the user to request deletion of the account
• Publish Gecko App privately on Apple and Google stores
• Ability to update the EN module (OTA)

Custom features

The goal of this release is to have a fully OTA app with similar features as the previous in.touch 2 outside of Gecko waterlab features.

The below is officially released.

Spa Control

• Ability to control lights per zone (in.mix)

Convenience

• Ability to access the RF Signal strength
• Ability to easily access current in.touch accessory information (Serial number, version, manual and more)
• Ability for haptic feedback on spa control actions (pumps, lights etc.)
• Quick access to detailed water reports directly from the homepage
• Ability to access Energy Mode through the Energy item menu

Foundation 

• Ability to access the latest features provided through Over-the-Air (OTA) updates for the EN and CO modules, as well as Gecko waterlab.
• Ensure the app works without water monitoring (hide features not needed)
• Publish on Apple stores and Google stores

The goal of this release is to valorize energy features while closing the gap with remote control functionalities.

The below is not released and is subject to changes.

Spa Control

• Ability to change in.temp modes (Gecko heatpump control)
• Ability to control an external heat source from in.grid
• Ability to change VMS pre-set intensity (off / 25% / 50% / 75% / 100%) – Target completion by end of April

Convenience

• Integration of spa notifications and reminders on the application
• Key sections of the app available in French
• Ability to change from imperial to metric for dosing recommendations

Energy

• Ability to notify about energy modes from the homepage
• Redesign in a more intuitive way the energy & filtration modes
• Additional insights and information about energy usage

Water Sanitation 

• Ability to add a probe after the set-up
• Ability to calibrate the probe

Foundation

• Integration of premium functionnalities
